Thus, I am not fundamentally opposed to the use of military force, particularly in opposition to abject tyranny and/or in direct defense of our nation -- the United States -- and its proven, steadfast allies. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) said: O' Fatimah! Every eye shall be weeping on the Day of Judgment, except the eye which has shed tears over the tragedy of Hussain (A.S.), for surely, that eye shall be smiling, and, shall be given the glad tidings of the bounties, and comforts of Paradise. (Bihar al-Anwar (Urdu vol, 44, page:293)
Alongwith, Allah and his Prophets, Shia believe in infallible Imams. Shiite (the faith) and Shia (the true followers) are under constant guidance by the 12th Imam (AS). Our Grand Ayatullahs get direct and indirect instructions from him (A.S). That keeps Shia faith on straight path, described in Quran as "Siraat-al-Mustaqeem".
"Shiite is where soul transits through matter, crossing the boundaries of time; even before the creation of the man, when them was between mud and water, and beyond the end of this life. It then maintains the balance and harmony within and outside." (Momineen.com)

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُواْ وَلاَ تَقُولُواْ لِمَنْ أَلْقَى إِلَيْكُمُ السَّلاَمَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ اللّهِ مَغَانِمُ كَثِيرَةٌ كَذَلِكَ كُنتُم مِّن قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ اللّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا
O ye who believe! When ye go abroad in the cause of Allah, investigate carefully, and say not to any one who offers you a salutation: "Thou art none of a believer!" Coveting the perishable goods of this life: with Allah are profits and spoils abundant. Even thus were ye yourselves before, till Allah conferred on you His favours: Therefore carefully investigate.
